This innovative membership service serves to promote business information about your counselling practice, specialized services and skills as well as the ability to upload a profile picture and business logo. With futurist trends heading towards a generation that seeks information online as well as a specific set of skills, knowledge and experience, the CPCA believes this directory will provide a competitive edge for marketing our member's counselling services across Canada to the public, insurance providers, EAP contractors and government for verification of your legitimacy. All members who are in "good standing" will be approved to list their contact information in the directory on an annual basis. It allows our members to login to their directory listing once it has been approved and make any changes to their contact information.

Description

Andrea has been in the mental health and counselling field for 10+ years. She joined CPCA in 2011 as a qualifying member and she now holds membership as a Qualified Clinical Supervisor. Andrea also holds membership with BCACC as a Registered Clinical Counsellor and she is a registered social worker with the BC College of Social Workers. Andrea is also an adjunct instructor with a counselling diploma program.

Andrea is very approachable and easy going, without compromising a professional edge or evidence-based practice. Her therapy work is focused on trauma counselling, and many of her clients have lived experience with substance use and intergenerational trauma. This work is informed by her former work experience in clinical mental health settings, the ER, emergency shelters and safe-consumption site.

Andrea works alongside many talented counsellors at Living Bridges Therapy Collective in Kamloops, and in that role, she provides counselling, as well as clinical supervision for master’s students. In her clinical counselling work, Andrea uses many modalities including EMDR, OEI, and the Safe and Sound Protocol. Andrea also wanted to create a space to offer supervision to individuals whose paths do not include a master’s degree. In 2022, she earned her MPCC-S credential to be able to offer supervision to graduates from counselling diploma programs. Supervision is a great joy in Andrea’s professional schedule. She endeavours for supervision to be a safe space for counsellors to be honest with themselves and their supervisor about their areas of growth and the moments of success.
